The 5K Run/ 1KWalks are held and in memory of Tekau Rasayon, who passed away suddenly on March 28, 2012 from an anomalous coronary artery (ACA). She was 17 years old.

The 5K Run/Walk honors Tekau's spirit and temperament, in addition to raising awareness about heart conditions, especially ACAs in teens and young adults; the 2014 and 2015 5K events helped raise $1,100 each year for a memorial scholarship in Tekau’s name.
MOTIVATED TO, REMEMBER, CHANGE, AND EXCEL
The 5KRun/1KWalk honors Tekau's spirit and temperament, in addition to raising awareness about heart conditions, especially ACAs in teens and young adults.
